Nerdot

Partnering to win time-sensitive B2B logistics opportunity

Nerdot

The Situation

Nerdot is an information technology company looking to get into the B2B digital logistics space. To enter that market, they needed to disrupt the status quo by leveraging technology end-to-end as part of their new service offering.

The product to be built would allow Nerdot to service thousands of daily on-the-field service requests for over 18,000+ businesses and adhere to tight Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Nerdot’s Context

Vision

Nerdot was looking to take on the digital B2B logistics space but needed the tech to back them up.

Why

Nerdot looks to show the simple side of technology; problem-free and stress-free.

Goals

  • Develop a product that would allow them to capture an improperly served market in a finite amount of time
  • Control operational costs and risks by using technology to confirm the execution of their services as well as provide adequate information to their clients
  • Prove the fulfillment of the services provided
  • Provide analytics that would allow them to measure their performance

The GBH Difference

Partnership

We are not the “do what you’re told” type of company. At GBH, we look to understand the purpose of what we build and whom we partner with so that we can contribute to the realization of that vision.

Seamless integration

We seamlessly integrate with teams we partner with. As part of the Nerdot product build, we walked into their Client’s meetings, participated in calls, and helped shape the product specifications, as well as directly presented the prototypes for Client validation.

What We Did

Help define the product

We worked hand-in-hand with the Nerdot team to establish how the process of the operation was going to work and at the same time, established the specifications that would determine the different tech products required to support the different elements of that operation; field service, supervision of the operations, and client requests.

Work with our UX team

We partnered with our UX team to produce high fidelity prototypes that allowed us to test our hypotheses with real users and confirm the specifications we put together based on our understanding of the operation.

Avengers Assemble

Given the time sensitivity of this project and the make or break condition of accepting it, we put a team together with our most experienced engineers which, with their direct acceptance of the challenge, worked tirelessly to get it done. For context, this build required three products: a mobile application with offline capabilities for field service, a control center that would allow Nerdot’s team to monitor and control the field, as well as a client application that would allow clients to initiate service requests.

Launch and support the product

A week before schedule, our work was completed and we accompanied the Nerdot team while the products were deployed to the field.

The Result

The product was launched successfully one week ahead of schedule. Moreover, the level of service provided received praises from Nerdot’s Client as they had improved from having service requests take weeks at a time to just a couple of hours in fulfillment.
